Philosophy of a Hybrid Conference
At the beginning of September, there is always a wonderful late summer atmosphere in Heidelberg.
For that reason, we believe we will be able to hold a conference like the one that was held regularly before the Covid-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, we are making preparations in case COVID-19 has new surprises in store. Therefore, a virtual component has been implemented.
In the philosophy of the conference, face-to-face meetings are very important, that is why the conference is mainly focused on the meeting in Heidelberg.
If you cannot travel for health reasons, if your agenda does not allow it, if many people from your lab are already travelling – for all these reasons we want to provide a up-to-date solution
Please note that the International Symposium on Amyloidosis 2022 (in person) is fully booked.

In addition to the explicit services that the participant of the conference receives, there are a number of services that are provided in the background and are necessary to reach a high level of the conference. Off course, here come costs of rooms and general organization. To establish a program, an international committee can be put together, well-known speakers are invited, a selection committee for the abstracts may be required, or cooperation with the board of a scientific society. If these are not voluntary services, expenses are to be considered in the calculation of the conference such as travel expenses, reduced conference attendance, speaker’s dinner or other paid services including any incidental costs such as tips.
Our aim is to offer the entire scientific programme as a live stream and subsequently as video on demand. In this way, we offer a good opportunity to follow the scientific discussion. However, as the focus is on organizing the conference on site, no special offers such as sight-seeing or similar things are planned in the virtual part, as they might be planned in a completely virtual congress.
- The virtual conference offers you access to a virtual platform on which you can follow all lectures live. To compensate for the differences in time zones, the lectures will be available as video on demand on the same day as far as possible.
- With your access to the platform, you have further weeks to access the sessions as video on demand. The platform will close on October 21, 2022.
- All posters will be available on the platform.
- The sponsors will also be represented in the virtual exhibition area. Contact can be made with them as well as with the other participants in the virtual venue.
- On the virtual platform, participants can create a personal profile and get in contact with each other.
- As far as possible, the virtual audience will be able to communicate with the conference on site, as far as discussions are concerned.

The HeidelbergCARD offers you free travel on public transport and a one-time entry to the Heidelberger castle courtyard with the barrel cellar and the possibility to visit the German Pharmacy Museum. The HeidelbergCARD also enables several discounts on guided tours, in museums and exhibitions, restaurants as well as on shopping and cultural events.
You can book the HeidelbergCard for 4 days directly via the registration page (valid from midnight on the first day to midnight on the fourth day).
The price is 25.00 EURO
You will receive your HeidelbergCARD during the registration on the first conference day.
If you would like to bring an accompanying person to the dinner or book a HeidelbergCard for an accompanying person, please feel free to contact us at: firstname.lastname@example.org. We will then send you a voucher code which the accompanying person can use to register. As the number of seats at the Conference Dinner is limited, please register the accompanying person as soon as possible.
Types of payments accepted are bank transfers (only until the payment deadline) and credit cards (VISA/Mastercard).
All payments should be made in EURO. All charges due to bank transfers have to be paid by the sender.
As soon as your booking is complete, you will receive an electronic invoice (pdf). If you require your institution’s VAT identification number on the invoice, you must enter this on the registration form at the time of booking.
If you have special requirements for invoicing or financial processing, this may be subject to a fee of 20 Euros.
Cancellations by the participant can be made without stating reasons in accordance with the following conditions:

In case, you want to convert your on-site ticket into a digital ticket or vice versa, this is only possible if the contingent for digital / on-site tickets is not fully booked.
By converting your on-site ticket to a digital ticket, the price difference will be refunded. If you want to convert your digital ticket to an on-site ticket the price difference will be invoiced.
In both cases a handling fee of 50 € will be charged. Please contact us directly if you want to convert your ticket.
Please note that ticket conversion is only possible until July 29th, 23:59 p.m.
In case of cancellation by the organizer for organizational or other reasons, the conference fee will be fully refunded. However the organizer does not assume responsibility for any additional costs, charges, or expenses; to include, charges made for travel and lodging.
Any abstract submitted will be deleted once the registration cancellation is finalized.
The month of September is late summer and we expect the Covid19 threat to be low as in recent years. In the event that the symposium cannot take place in person, it will be held virtually. Your booking remains valid. In this case, the price for virtual participation applies, i.e. there will be a partial refund for regular tickets. Please refer to our General Terms and Conditions.
The Corona situation continues to be dynamic and the measures in Germany are being fine-tuned on a nearly daily basis.
We will review the Covid19 development at regular intervals and, if necessary, announce any significant changes on our FAQ website.
During the conference, we will have health and ID checks at the entrance on all conference days. The name on your ID has to be identical to the name on your ticket.
By registering to ISA 2022 you are aware and accept that your personal data (first and last name, telephone number, full address and email address) is collected by the organizer to allow possible chains of infections with Covid19 to be later traced and contained. These data shall be provided exclusively to the public health authorities in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Digital access to the conference platform has started now. To access the
conference digitally, you must log in to Conftool, the system used for conference registration. Please use the user name and password you used when registering. If you no longer remember your user name or password, request a new one.
After logging in, you will get to the participant options. Click on “Link to Venueless Online Conference System”. Successful access will result in a pop-up asking you to set up your profile and picture.
